I really liked Amelia and boy you couldn't help but feel bad for her string of bad luck. Bad baking changes from bad luck to a cake shop, a house that is not a normal house, some interesting people and a murder to solve. This story really keeps you hooked and enjoying every page and can't wait to read more in the series!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A nice, cosy mystery. While it's not going to change your life, it did make for an entertaining, light read.

A basic cozy mystery. Sometimes not the most engaging, it's light and fun. Mystery was predictable though it is always fun to read Amelia's house reacting to different people or Amelia attempting new recipes with varying degrees of success. The witch/witch hunter plot kind of reminded me of a plot on Sabrina the Teenage Witch too.

The day could hardly get worse: her boyfriend's in hospital with food poisoning from her cooking, her job's been downsized out of the company, and she just been evicted due to the fire damage in her apartment from a cooking accident. But then there's a mysterious letter with a lifeline that could turn Amelia's life around.

When it comes to cooking, Amelia Spelled and I could be twins so it's easy to sympathise with her disasters. (We also share the clumsy gene.) I found our heroine to be quite likeable especially with her proactive do-whatever-it-takes attitude that she adopted to solve the mystery threatening her new life.

Miss Spelled was a pleasant but brief read and I look forward to the next in the series.
lighthearted mysterious medium-paced

Amelia Spelled is have the worst day ever...first her boyfriend dumps her, she get canned from her job and she gets evicted from her apartment! Time for ice cream! She's almost afraid to open the letter from Ruprecht Foxtin-Flynn. Once she gets the nerve up to open the letter she finds out her Aunt Angelica Spelled died and has left an inheritance for Amelia. Which consists of family photos, bone china, a house, content and a store in a charming town of Bayberry Creek. Better watch out the house is alive and has a mind of itself!

The story was well written but I did have a problem with some of characters...not much of description. All and all I would read the next in the series!
