I loved that book. It is ... touching, moving, cute, lovely (and will repair any damage the Lion King made into your belief that people you love won't disappear). I'd recommend it to... anyone, kid or grown-up, because everyone needs to feel loved, no matter what. One of my favourite books this year.

"Small" and "Large" are a bit insufficient as the characters' names - given that they appear to be a child and the child's parent - but this is a nice story about parental love. It loses a point because it is wrong about stars never dying, but gets it back for referencing Kafka's The Metamorphosis.
Does the little girl like it? Yes, I think so. She likes the crocodile, and it has a pretty good rhyme scheme that makes it fun to read.
