In ‘Come to me Quietly’ we meet Aleena Moore, a.k.a. Aly. Aly has secretly admired her brothers best friend Jared for years. Now Jared has disappeared for years, but Aly never forgot about him. When she is starting to realize it’s time for her to move on and forget about Jared, she walks into her home, finding him asleep on her couch. Jared is not the boy she knew before, he is covered in tattoos and lost his way in life, but Aly refuses to give up on him.
Soon Aly and Jared find out the connection they have shared all their lives, isn’t broken and will grow deeper than they both knew possible.
Like I said before, I always knew I would love A.L. Jackson’s books. Apparently I know myself really well, because when I started in ‘Come to me Quietly’, I couldn’t stop reading. This book was just so beautifully written and I completely fell in love with the two main characters. A.L. Jackson wrote this heartbreaking and beautiful story that makes you feel all kind of emotions. This is definitely a book I will be remembering for a long long time.
The two main characters Aly and Jared are just so addicting to read about. Ever since they were young, Jared always looked out for Aly, and Aly has always secretly loved Jared. They have this amazing connection which makes you really envy them from the moment you start reading about them. I know I did.
It was so sweet to read about their past as children. It was heartbreaking to read how one moment in their teens changed their lives forever. And it was exhilarating to read how Aly and Jared as grown-ups reconnected.
I loved how Aly and Jared interacted with each other, I just couldn’t stop reading this book. I honestly stayed in bed way to long because I just had to finish this book. And when I did, I felt sad because I wasn’t ready to let this story go. Fortunately there’s book two, to look forward to.
I love these kind of stories that make you feel so many different emotions while reading them. And ‘Come to me Quietly’ is one of those books. I loved it and can’t wait to read more about Aly and Jared. This book definitely gets my recommendation.

2.5 stars.
Let me start off by saying A. L. Jackson is a great author. The sentences she forms are wonderful to read and many passages stood out to me. The narrative is very descriptive which normally doesn't bother me if the dialogues had balanced it out.
They didn't.
I felt like the hero and heroine barely spoke to each other or had a proper conversation, save a couple, and it really began to drag the story down. That and the fact that it got slightly repetitive. Not just the wording, but the whole getting close and pushing away thing Jared was doing as well. Aside from that, it felt like nothing was happening in the first 300 pages or so. I kept reading, waiting to learn what Jared had done all those years ago and why he felt so unworthy of love or kindness.
The story does pick up towards the end, but by then it just gets so melodramatic. And this is coming from someone who loves reading about drama, who loves angst in her stories. That's when I realized I just didn't care for the characters.
All in all, this novel was disappointment. With such high ratings here, I had really hoped to like it. But I just couldn't. There's a sequel to this book and since I already have it, I'll read it. I just hope it doesn't have the same problems that this one suffers from.

Spoiler
I mean, I did feel bad for Jared at the start, but the more I read of his point of view the more annoyed I got. He came off as a whiny boy rather than a tragic hero. And Aly was so bland, it felt like she had no life outside of Jared. There was also no getting to know each other again as adults which disappointed me. And Christopher, Aly's brother and Jared best friend, confused me. He's the one who brought Jared back into Aly's life, who over the years assured Jared that what happened wasn't his fault. Then why, for the life of me I don't understand, was he against them dating? Especially when he was constantly sleeping around himself. But I agree, them hiding it from him and going around his back in his own apartment was wrong. But his reaction to catching them was so bad. Who throws his sister, the person he loves and wants to protect, across the room? All in all, this novel was disappointment. With such high ratings here, I had really hoped to like it. But I just couldn't. There's a sequel to this book and since I already have it, I'll read it. I just hope it doesn't have the same problems that this one suffers from.

It was well written but something was off. The last 4 chapters I was into the book but the first 300 pages just seemed to drag on. I just wanted them to do it already. So much sexual tension. And the incident took forever to be revealed.

Okay, well I was actually going to give this four stars since I really liked this one but I have to dock off a star because of how melodramatic it got.
It started off good, nothing special, but enjoyable for me to actually consider giving it four stars in the end. But we kept progressing and things got even more dramatic and over-the-top, and I really couldn't stand it anymore. After first, I understood where Jared's self-pity was coming from but it just kept going on and on and building on top of each other to the point where his self-pity went through the roof and instead of feeling sorry for him, his whole "I'm dangerous. I'm going to break you. I'm no good for you. I ruin everything I touch. Yada yada yada" act became super obnoxious.
Like yeah. We get it already. Give it a break. I just wanted to roll my eyes whenever he was having another one of his pitiful fits again and just skimmed through those particular scenes. His whining was insufferable and I stopped feeling bad for him long before we even find out what the tragedy was. And this is coming from someone who loves angsty romances but goodness I was about to go out of my mind with how I was suffocated with Jared's self-loathing.
Other than the super melodramatic hero, this could've been a decent four star read. But the angst got to be too much where it killed the whole story for me. I want to read the next book but I can't stand Jared and more of his self-pity so I might pass and jump to Christopher's story instead.

Me encanto, una historia que cuando empiezas a leerla no te detienes hasta terminarla.

Method: audiobook
Rating: 4/5 stars
H rating: 4/5 - Jared. Extremely troubled dude, I understood his grief, but he pushed the h away so much it hurt.
h rating: 4/5 - Aleena. I really liked her, but was just unsure if for her mental state it was a smart idea to keep on with him..then when it got to the point that it was unreal to not continue with him it felt like it was a no other choice thing.
Drama: 4/5 - Previous trauma is the main issue for the drama.
Thoughts: A LOT of push and pull from this couple. I understood to a point his self hate and need to hurt himself and feel undeserving, but there was just so much pushing and so much angst that it sucked. I was also hoping for an epilogue, but I understand now that there is a book 2. I do not think I will read book 2.

This was fine. It was alright I didn’t mind the relationship between the 2 lead characters but literally up until the last 20% it was just a depiction of their relationship with very obvious hints at the guy characters (can’t even remember his names) dark secret and hidden angst. I probably will read the next book I’m intrigued enough to find out what happens but I’ll only buy it if it’s on offer so will I ever? Who knows I won’t cry about it if not
