This one had a slow start and the main character is quite unlikeable at first. I was going to DNF after 60 pages, because she was acting so ridiculously, but I pushed through. 

The story does get better. There is an underlying sadness to the story, so I wouldn’t exactly call it a romantic comedy. The ending was satisfying, but I could have done without the epilogue foreshadowing doom and tragedy.

I was debating giving it 2.5 stars because it was weirdly a slog to get through- but I can’t explain why I love some romcom novels and just don’t vibe with theta. There are charming moments which is why I’m sticking with 3 stars, and I think some people who love the lighter romcom stuff could be delighted by it but it all felt soooooo heavy handed to me and I just felt like it could have been edited down much more...
