loved daja's development, and the traders' too - very much about challenging prejudices and the need for restraint in power

What I really enjoyed about this one was that we got to know a bit more about Daja and her culture. We also get to see her struggle a bit with a choice that would potentially change the trajectory of her life, both tossing her in very different directions.

I enjoy Tamora Pierce's writing, especially her treatment of magic. She has some interesting ideas, and I love how she portrays her characters and the places in her world. Daja's Book is no exception. It's the third tale about the four children, and how they are becoming closer and more in-tune with their powers and each other. Another great story in this series!
