I feel like I'm kind of over ex boyfriend's brother trope and kind of find it weird? I also feel like friends part of this relationship lasted for like 70% of the book so didn't really feel anything for it. The heroine wasn't perfect but I feel like the hero kept screwing up and only showed his feelings really in that one scene. I hated that he kept their relationship a secret and then almost let her ex fiance break them up

A Soul to Guide is fifth book of Duskwalker Brides series and so far my favorite of the series.
Emery had signed up to slaughter demons, not face an omen of death or torture someone. She might've helped the demon hunters to capture him but she also had to help him escape to his freedom. Emery had a lot of insecurities, especially with her scars, so I'm glad that Ingram wasn't perfect either.
Ingram might be my favorite hero so far in this series. He's such a definition of a cinnamon roll... you know as long as he doesn't smell blood and go all beasty. He didn't trust Emery at first but she smelled nice and he liked the color of her hair and eyes. He was so naive as he didn't know a lot of things, like what freckles were.
I adored the romance. Ingram is such a sweetheart and Emery is kind and patient with him. Ingram just wanted his little butterfly and decide that she was the most delicate thing in the entire world, so he had to protect her always. No other human could compare to Emery and he made her feel the way she always wanted to; loved, beautiful inside and out and good enough just the way she is.
I understood the witch owl wanting to keep all her children safe but I didn't really get why she didn't seem to like Emery. I absolutely loved how many past characters we got from previous books. It was so fun to see Ingram and Emery interact with them.
All in all I enjoyed every minute of this book! A Soul to Revive was a book about love, loosing people, insecurity and acceptance. You can't help but feel bad for both of these characters and be exited for every single growth we see in their relationship.
