Love, Utley is the first book from Love Letters series.
Hannah had to leave college after only a week after starting because her mother had a stroke. She went from student to working full time to support herself, her mother and later even her cousin's daughter.
She was sad that he never called but she was never mad enough to hate him. Hannah followed his football career and only forced herself to stop looking him up when he retired. She had no idea he bought the place she works at until she sees him and he had no idea she was working there until he hears her name.
Hannah and Maddox were both hurt by their past and it didn't help that neither knew the full story. They were both hurt by the other and they both tried to forget. Assumptions were made and they were wrong. Hannah and Maddox had to keep their relationship a secret but I like how they gave each other a new chance. They might have had a different kind of lives but in relationship wise they were pretty much the same. They never got over each other and they were both equally jealous about other people. Hannah had always been his and I was glad every time his possessive side showed.
I really liked groveling in this book. I didn't think Maddox was really to blame even though he could've done things differently but they only knew each other for a week. But I loved that he still wanted to apologize even after she forgave him. He cared enough about her to want to feel like he was forgiven and not just to hear the words.
I was both exited and scared af to read this book. I rarely like second chance trope but I think it was done very well in this book. Love, Utley is also a sports and office romance.

We decided to tandem read Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn with Sam @ Fictionally Sam. I'm not sure if I loved or hated it. I think storyline wise it was fun but I wasn't a fan of changing books every few chapters or so. Tower of Dawn is the only book in the series I haven't reviewed before.
Tower of Dawn starts with Chaol having two impossible tasks: convincing the Khagan and his six would-be-heirs to lend their armies to Aelin and the war against Erawan. And finding a healer in the Torre to get him walking again in some way. Yrene didn't want to help Chaol because of what King of Adarlan did to her parents but ends up helping him anyways. It didn't take her long to realize that he didn't learn to manage the pain but also felt like he deserved it.
I love Yrene and I wish she appeared more in the series. But I felt for Chaol for her making his ability to not walk even harder by showing others. Yrene didn't even ask if it was okay to use him as example to teach the other healers. Chaol was used to be strong but here he was at his weakest and having strangers stare at him. Chaol went through some character growth, so you can't help but forgive him all his past sins.
I didn't mind Chaol starting things with Yrene before officially breaking up with Nesryn. She had already broken up with him and honestly I didn't even notice they were together until he mentioned it to Yrene. Nesryn left him instead of him cheating on her. On top of that things with Chaol and Yrene developed slowly and Nesryn wasn't there.
Chaol had bad self-worth in this book. He felt like he did everything wrong with Dorian and Aelin and deserved nothing. Yrene didn't agree with him and instead thought he was noble, selfless and remarkable. Yrene's bravery, cleverness and unfaltering will made her a perfect fit to Chaol in my opinion. He never blamed her for anything (unless you count the scene where he was really talking about himself) and he really saw her unlike with Aelin.
I liked even the little romance with Nesryn and Sartaq. I didn't really care for her character until this book but I'm glad she found someone who appreciated her as the way she was and didn't just use her as a way to get over someone else. These two were similar despite him being a prince and they fit so well together.
All in all this book succeeded surprising me again and I even rated it higher than before. If you're hesitant to read this book because of Chaol just do it anyway. I basically hated him in Queen of Shadows and I really liked him in Tower of Dawn. This book has action, romance and mystery.
Original rating in 2018: three stars

Last time I read Empire of Storms I admit that I found Aelin's secret plans annoying but while rereading I just wanted Aedion to trust her. She already told her friends that she was calling in old debts and promises. And even if nobody came I don't really get why Aedion was acting like Aelin was just showcasing her powers for fun and putting them in danger for no reason. Where was all the loyalty he had for her in Queen of Shadows? Even Ansel knew she never forgot her kingdom.
I liked that we got more likeable side couples! Manon and Dorian have so much potential but I don't get why people love them so much. That being said, I think if they got more chapter or even a book about them I think I could love them.
Lorcan and Elide is still my favorite side couple in this book and I hope to see more of these two couples in Kingdom of Ash. Was it perfect? Of course not. Lorcan was still loyal to Maeve and they were both keeping secrets from each other. I liked how they went from using each other to Lorcan promising to protect Elide and not to abandon her. They had so much in common like having no family or friends. It was sad to realize that he didn't think Rowan and others as his friends.
I don't get why people hate on Aedion so much for his treatment on Lysandra. He was just upset and I was more annoyed by how in the earlier in the book she was telling him how to feel and act.
Rowan and Aelin's romance was my favorite thing about this book, not that anyone is surprised. I don't understand people who still aren't over other Aelin ships because to me Rowan has always been the one for her. He's the only one who saw every part of her and wasn't afraid. Aelin also accepted him the way he was nad loved that he doesn't apologize for who he is. Rowan wanted to live up to being with her and they were clearly loved each other. Aelin needed someone who didn't apologize who they are and he accepts her as she is.
I'm sad friendships took a step back in general for this book. We had so much relationship build in the last book but this book barely had nothing. Aelin asked Lysandra's help and worked with Manon but that was basically it.
All in all I liked that we got to see more romance in this book but it still wasn't enough in my opinion. But I liked how we got at least some parts with different couples. I wish Rowan and Aedion's friendship was more shown or even Rowan and Dorian's. The whole book just has too much planning and action compared to romance and friendships to me.

Marielle realized in her first semester that she could turn her love of nature into a career by studying geology. Her studies give her a chance to met her mate. She had no idea that a dragon would seek her out after she accidentally steals one's rock. Artemis a grumpy dragon and one of the last of his kind. There weren't many dragons left in the world.
Artemis was jealous of all the shifters who were mated, so he was happy to find out that his thief was his mate.
I had so much fun reading this. I haven't read many dragon romances and these two fit so well together. Artemis was protective of Marielle but he didn't over do it. He just wanted her to get everything she deserved. Marielle accepted him the way he was from the beginning and I loved the way he called her his treasure.
All in all fun dragon romance. I love how sweet these two characters were to each other. Perfect book before bed when you're in the mood for soul mates but nothing with much plot.
