There were things in the book that I liked, some I didn't. To start with, the plot itself is actually quite clever and well thought of. The main character himself carried a good balance of wits and humor, which played well with his interactions with the other characters of the book.
The main problem with the book that I found was it's narration. While the tone was set to a very relatable, unobnoxious style, it was also quite dull at times. I did not find the text appealing or engaging enough, even if the plot worked really hard in the favor of the book.
Overall, there was nothing that stood out to me. It was an interesting read, a good way to pass an afternoon, but nothing about it would seem to make you be invested in it.

Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone by Benjamin Stevenson

Did not finish book. Stopped at 10%.
While the title of the book drew me in, making me excited to read it, the actual content was royally disappointing. The writing was bland, the chapters were too descriptive and dancing around the actual point, making it incredibly hard to focus.
It is understandable that the book is supposed to reminisce about the times when the author's family members have killed someone(s), the narration and the swaying away from the details warded my attention off.
The author has used a catchy title and an attractive cover, the exact instruments to lure you in, but unfortunately the book falls short of expectations that might have risen about it.
