I love that they talk about their sexual hangups and the blast from the past seems like it's going to cause trouble. I can't wait to start vol 4

I love that the relationship isn't perfect and both women have to deal with their own issues

It was a bit hard to get into it because this book does not explain anything. You get glimpses of the worldbuilding as you advance and that's it. But the letters were AMAZING. I fell in love with their reflections and feelings and relationship. So if you're looking for a short and sweet love story full of musings on life, go for it, but don't expect the sci-fi to be more than an excuse

I got this in a Storygraph giveaway so I feel bad DNFing but the formatting is terrible and I've seen several typos already.
Capturing the Devil by Kerri Maniscalco
I enjoyed the romance drama, even though it was ridiculous, but it got solved magically. I really didn't care about the mystery plot, mainly becauae there was no personal connection between Audrey Rose and Holmes.

The first half was really boring and hard to get through. It retcons shitty stuff Josh did in the first one, and there's no development of the relationship cause they pick up where they left off, but the problem is there was no development in book 1 either to begin with. Josh and Eden are completely into each other and want to be together from the first page and yet it takes them half the book to get there for no good reason. The first book dealt with Eden's life, school, friendships, family, but this one is pretty much just about the romance and like I said the romance is super boring and uninteresting. I could have done without this sequel because it doesn't add anything to the original.

I really liked the parts where all four stories were happening at once, and I also liked the ending. It's an okay series for me, I didn't love it, but I did enjoy it enough to finish it.

I was wrong and the previous volume did have a lot to do with the story. I liked the interactions between the kids here and the theme of death
