I couldn't put it down. I love the use of black and pink. I love the story and how realistic it feels.

The last chapter was a bit worse than the rest, but in general I really liked this book. It offers very nuanced and interesting reflections about desire and consent.

This is Black's first novel and it shows. It was very confusing (and nonsensical at times), the love story is underdeveloped, I didn't care about any of the secondary characters so the drama involving them was completely uninteresting for me, and I mostly found it boring. It took me a long time to get through it and it's a pretty short book.

This is pretty boring. The monster stuff is tedious, and the narrative parts contradict canon in different places. They're also not very interesting or engaging.

I didn't love it as much as Ng's previous novels, but it's still a worthwile book. It hit too close to home sometimes and it gave me chills.
