At the start I wasn't even feeling this book at all. It didn't grab me or make me want to pick it up. But by the end I was so interested in it.
If you're having a hard time getting through it just give it a chance. I'm glad I did. 😊

This book completely captivated me from the first page. I didn’t want to put it down!
I found a few parts kind of repetitive but overall I loved the story and I cannot wait to see where Eva & Gideon’s story takes us in the next books :)

I enjoyed this book however I pretty much guessed everything that was going to happen.
And I found some of the characters really...whiney and so typical.
I liked the way it was written from 4 different POV’s, I’ve never read anything like this before.
I saw so many good reviews about this book but I was a tad let down by it, even though I enjoyed it

Okay so I tried to read this book in 2017 and I just couldn’t. I didn’t like it and I got to page 38 and I DNF it.
This year I’ve set myself a goal to read the 3 books I DNF in 2017, Wintersong being 1 of them.
After i read The Bear and The Nightingale I didn’t know what I wanted to read so I went to my TBR jar and I did a jar pull. I made a rule, whatever I pull out I have to read, no swapping! So when I picked out Wintersong I was pretty gutted and anxious.
I HAD NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT!!
I honestly LOVED this book the second time around, I couldn’t put it down. I loved the Goblin King, I love the story, I loved the writing! The only reason it got 4 stars was nothing to do with the book exactly, but I’m not a musical person, I don’t like musicals and I don’t understand musical lingo which this has a lot of.
I currently have Shadowsong sat on my TBR shelf and it’s piece of paper is folded up in my TBR jar - I cannot wait to pull it out 😊

I was super excited to read this book after the first one completely captivated me. I really enjoyed this book however I was able to guess the plot twist toward the end so that’s why this gets 3 stars :)

Oh wow. I’ve always loved the Shadowhunters TV show and I had these books for a while, but I’ve always been too scared? Nervous? Anxious? To read them incase they ruined my love for the tv show or they weren’t as good. But I can honestly say I LOVED this book, I couldn’t put it down. I loved Jace’s character, and Clary. Simon seems a bit whiny but not too much to be put off.
I loved the world building, the writing was beautiful.
Favourite read of the month! 😍

I’m currently sat here deciding if it’s a 4/5 or 4.5/5....
I have so many thoughts and emotions I can’t even...I’m speechless...
Okay so, if you read my Wintersong review you will see that when I first tried to read it I didn’t like it and I had to DNF it. I picked it up again in January and I LOVED IT. I couldn’t wait for Shadowsong to come out to finish the journey.
I have just finished Shadowsong and I’m a mess...can I just say that at the start there is author notes with trigger warnings - huge respect to the author for including that!
I will also just say that this book is very dark like the emotions they feel are very dark. But it is a seriously beautiful read.
This book is...emotional, beautiful, and the writing is stunning. At times I was a bit confused because it seems to be from 3 POVS and it doesn’t tell you who’s POV it is at the start of the chapter. I managed to figure it out because the 3 of them had different artwork or no artwork at the start of each chapter. But that was the confusing part and once I figured it out I got into it and I loved it.
For the emotions, I like how they were written, my own real life problems have made me feel really down lately but I could totally relate to some of the emotions in this book.
I love the way everything got twisted and I never saw that ending coming!
I love this book so much, probably more than the first one, the only downside is there wasn’t much Goblin King in this one...I need more of him 😍
