Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay

Didn’t like the ending too much. But overall a fun read. Always enjoyed the early Dexter seasons and this book reminded me of them. And just the right amount of Rita, almost none at all!

Great! This was a very unique mystery both in terms of cultural norms and the twists of the story. Sad ending but somehow fitting. Loved. It was a tense and wondrous experience.

Wow, I liked this book a lot! It was really unusual. Dragged a bit when the author kept going on about some business details. The trial was confusing a bit due to unfamiliar Japanese legal system but it had the excitement of a Perry Mason book, almost. The best part was the protagonist. Unexpected to say the least. He was quite a discovery! Reminded me of the Devotion of Suspect X by Keigo Higashino. Another unexpectedly fascinating story with an unusual and fascinating protagonist.

The ending was a bit of a let down. But it was sweet in an innocent kind of way. Probably not likely to reread it again.

I liked the story. Kind of liked the ending. Kind of liked the characters. But I was so frustrated with the endless pop-culture reference! ENDLESS!!! I really want to just take a random chapter and list all of them just to see how many I get. It really soured my reading experience. I don't how to rate it.

Oh wow, I remembered it as an enjoyable read but this time the second half of the book really frustrated me. So convoluted. I think Sky was the weak point for me. His story really soured the reading experience. It was interesting for sure, but difficult to like.
