I’m so glad I picked this up before summer was over. This fed the reality show hole in my heart I didn’t know I was missing. I had a Bachelor in Paradise phase for a hot minute and this reminded me of that.

I loved being on the set of one of those reality dating shows and seeing how they react to things and Cas’s thought process for why she joined and how that evolved. And getting to meet the rest of the cast. Omg Femi!! I loved Femi and I loved him and Cas’s relationship, he would dive bomb her in bed and bring her coffee in the morning 🥰 I just want a short story of them all in the future. I really loved Cas and Ada’s relationship which is the main one of this book. I like how the whole show started with those two arriving to the villa first and we got to see the progression of their relationship, how they really formed a connection and then it became something more. And I also liked seeing how their friends were talking to each other watching the show while they were in the villa.

The books just progressively got worse for me. I was cringing the whole book from the cliché lines and nicknames being thrown around. All Aura seems to do is get kidnapped and beat up every book and then the guys come save her. This girl is supposed to be special being an aether and with the quintessence bond (neither of which I still really understand) but she literally does nothing and then suddenly at the end she helping others like unlock their power??? Girl I think you need to work on your own powers. And it felt like there was a sex scene every 5 minutes, every time one came on I was like really…again, wasn’t there one not too long ago?? She completely forgot about her only friends she had to spend all her time with her mates. Like okay I get it you’re mated but you can spend time with other people as well.

The only thing I liked about this book was getting to learn a little bit about her mom and that was a very short amount of time.

This was so stinking cute but did surprisingly make me cry at the end, I wasn’t expecting that.

Right from the start you know that Wren steps in to be this girl Gemma to save this guy from being embarrassed by his friend, she didn’t like how much his friend was poking fun at him for getting stood up by his internet date so she decides to pretend to be her with the intention of telling him after that she’s not really her but every time she tries to have a one on one discussion his friend happens to be there. After that first initial meeting he ends up volunteering at the animal shelter she mentioned and they spend more time together and you can tell they get along really well, like they were super cute together and I was rooting for them but I kept waiting for that shoe to drop that she wasn’t who she said she was.

Things actually didn’t go bad with that and then I was left questioning what was going to happen cause there was still a good amount of book left. A couple things piled up on top of each other and I found myself crying along with Wren, it was just a lot to handle at once.

I did mention they volunteer at an animal shelter and I loved it! A big part of it is she’s tasked with finding this dog Bean a home and they come up with different ways to try to get him adopted and it was just so cute.

This was definitely a dark Beauty and the Beast retelling. I did do the audio which may have not been the best choice (it was and it wasn’t cause I never would have said any of the names right lol). Sometimes I found myself a little confused with what was going on cause there was quite a bit of storytelling in this book and I wouldn’t realize right away that we are being told something. But I liked the idea and the vibe of the story. Throughout the whole book I couldn’t tell if she was going to love or kill the “beast”, I kept changing my mind.

This was fun. I haven’t checked out the actual series yet but this gave a good taste of Cora and Selene’s dynamic and gave you a vibe of what the actual books will be like.

This was a fun read. Gia gets dumped by her boyfriend on prom night and decides she needs a replacement fast. She’d been talking about him for the last few months to her friends but one of them starts saying he isn’t real and the doubt has started to spread. Hayden just happens to be hanging out in his car reading after dropping his sister off at the dance and agrees after some persuading.

I really liked Gia and Hayden together, they had good banter and I thought they would be cute together. Gia also ends up becoming friends with his sister Beck which is saying something cause she started off hating her. Of course they start liking each other after that initial date which doesn’t bode well for Gia as he was pretending to be Bradley and they broke up once his sister spotted them in fear of her blowing his cover. Gia’s one “friend” Jules has also been on a one woman mission to expose Gia as a liar from the original Bradley.

The only thing I didn’t like about this book was that she didn’t make up with her friends by the end, it was just kind of left hanging. And I also didn’t like that Jules set out to ruin her relationship with Claire just cause Claire was the first person to be nice to her, she told Gia Claire deserved better than her but aside from not telling her about the Bradley thing (which doesn’t explain Jules attitude prior) Gia didn’t do anything to deserve that.

At no point did I know how this book was going to end. The back gives you something to work with but leaves you unsure if it’s going to go in one direction or another.

I really enjoyed the Jaeger brothers from what we got to see of them in Tryst Six Venom so I definitely enjoyed getting to learn more about them and we actually get chapters from each of their POV’s. And I liked Krisjen, she’s dealing with a lot of shit at home but takes on the responsibility of being more of a parent to her siblings than either of her parents are currently being and she’s not afraid to get her hands dirty to help them out. I liked seeing both worlds collide and how much more comfortable her siblings were over in the Bay.

Krisjen does get involved with the Jaeger men but honestly each one she was with at the time I was down for it. I enjoyed her relationships with each one and what it meant to both of them at the time. And she picked the one I wanted 🙌🏻  so I was having a great and horrible time at the end.

It does feel like there are still some stories that were left hanging that I would like to see…

I did really enjoy the Hindu culture in this book but there were things that drew me out of the story and they’re totally me things. Like idk I don’t like it when fantasy mixes with the real world, why do they have cell phones, I don’t want to see them texting when they’re talking about super cool parts of the fantasy aspect. Things like that threw me off so I didn’t enjoy it as much as I could have. I thought the idea was cool and I really loved when they went to the star court (I listened to the audiobook so my bad if I call things the wrong name), that was my favorite section of the book but then it kind of hit a lull with her getting ready for the competition.

This one was my favorite out of the series. I felt like the overall plot was good and it had enough going on to move it forward without falling into many lulls. I would have liked a little more from the end but I was satisfied with what I got.

This book was just okay. Honestly I feel like if I had physically read it I probably would have DNF’d it because it was kind of slow but then would have an exciting moment and then go back to being slow again. I felt more like this was just girls on a ship instead of girl pirates on a ship, like they told me they were pirates but I wanted to see more pirating. And the technological advances confused me at time, all of a sudden I’d hear about something and I’d be like wait what did they just say? How does that work? If there was more explanation behind it I might have been on board but instead I just felt confused about what was happening. And this romance that happened…did I tune out or something? When did she go from wanting to kill him and throw him overboard to kissing him?? And a lot of the strife between her and her best friend would have been settled if she’d just told her what happened that night 4 years ago.
