DNF.

Sadly, I just couldn't get into this, nor warm to the characters.

Another sexy, fast paced read from HelenKay Dimon in the Tough Love series. Rick knows that his predecessor at the German consulate did not commit suicide and is ready to start tracking down his killer. But playing the part of bumbling diplomat is not helping him get any answers. Seth is recovering from a previous injury on the job so babysitting the new consul general should be an easy gig but Rick isn't so buttoned up as he appears. As they try to track down a murderer they can't deny the sparks between them. But Rick is hiding even more secrets. When the truth finally comes out can Seth trust Rick or is this just one more disappointment in his life? A great read in a sexy series, can't wait to read more from Ms. Dimon!

**HelenKay is a personal friend, take this review however you choose**

**I received a copy of Guarding Mr. Fine from Random House-Loveswept and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review**

Guarding Mr Fine is the third book in Helen Kay Dimon's series. I haven't read the previous books but I have to say that it was very easy to read this as a standalone.

Seth Lang is part of the CIAs Special Activities Division who has been tasked with guarding the new US Counsel General in Munich but what he doesn't know is that his boss is playing cupid with Seth and Rick Fine. When he decides to visit a local bar before starting work he feels an instant attraction to Rick at the bar. It leads to a tyrst in an empty room but imagine his surprise when he shows up at work and finds out his new boss is none other than Rick Fine.

Rick Fine is investigating the suspicious death of the previous counsel general and he's a bit upset that the CIA SAD boss feels he has to have a bodyguard. But after his tyrst with an unknown lover he's just as surprised at Seth to find out that they already are familiar with each other. But it will take both of them plus all of the other staff working together to find out who killed the previous counsel general and now Rick is at risk as well.

The book had all of suspense of a good mystery and still have a burgeoning love story between Rick and Seth. I'd give the book a good solid rating of 4.5 stars and its worth reading either part of the series or as a standalone.

This series gets better and better with each installment, you guys. I’ve been loving everything that HelenKay has been giving us! I was especially looking forward to reading Seth’s story because he was hilarious in the previous books. I knew that there’s more to him other than the smart ass CIA agent we’ve come to know and he didn’t disappoint.

In here, he’s tasked to guard the newly appointed US consul general in Munich. However, he knows that it’s a cover for something else because no one knows anything about the guy. He seems to have come from out of nowhere. There’s something mysterious about his background and the real reason why someone inexperienced like him got the job. Not only does Seth knew next to thing about this guy but he’ll figure out soon enough that Rick Fine knew him in more ways than one.

One of the things that I look forward to when I read a romance novel is the serendipitous meeting of the main characters. Admittedly, their meet-cute wasn’t so cute. They went from 0-60 in a blink of an eye. It was kind of hot! They met at a bar and hit it off so well that they ended up having a tryst in the shaded part of the club. They thought it was a one-off thing, a one-night stand without sleeping together. But they had another thing coming since Ric knew a bit more about Seth than Seth knows about Rick. Their history is for you to find out, readers.

Rick Fine was sent to investigate the apparent suicide of the former consulate general. But the investigation is only a front for why he was there. As usual, there’s never a dull moment in this installment. Aside from the sleuthing that the boys were involved in, the romance will also have you engrossed. There’s a battle of egos and dominance between the two that heightens their chemistry to a fever pitch. What else could I ask for, right? Seth is a man-of-the-world kind of guy. He doesn’t have a commitment phobia per se, but he’s smart enough to know that a relationship between two CIA agents is not realistic nor it is advisable. So yeah, he’ll do what he can to sabotage his feelings towards Rick. There’s also that history thing that I mentioned above. Whatever it is, Seth has to learn to forgive and forget if he ever wants their relationship to foster.

Overall, HelenKay has been hitting all the right notes with her books. I keep saying I need to read more books by hers, but it keeps slipping my mind. Well, adding the rest of her books on my wishlist for future downloads when I’m in need of something fun, fast, and sexy.

3.5☆

This was a good story, with two likable characters. Although I didn't necessarily feel they shared much in the way of chemistry, but I did love all the banter between Seth and Rick and at times it really made me smile.

This was also my first book in the Tough Love Series and I honestly never felt like I was missing out on anything. I just wish there had been a little more in the way of action and that I felt more of a connection to these characters and the story itself.

That being said though I did enjoy it and I would recommend Guarding Mr Fine to others. Especially those who have read and enjoyed the previous books in this series.

Picture it
Sexy guy lounging in a nightclub looking to relieve some tension before embarking on a new assignment that once again places him in imminent danger but he's not going to worry about that right now, all he cares about is finding a tasty morsel to have a few minutes of mind blowing pleasure.

He's about to give up when in walks a man that stands out from the rest. Impeccably yet casually dressed, self-assured and too attractive for his own good. You and I both know it's going down and boy did it ever!

The morning after it's time to make the donuts and who should our sexy guy run into? None other than the tasty morsel he hooked up with of course!

The scene may seem typical even overdone or cheesy but not the way Dimon writes it!
I was all in fully invested in these two characters from the moment they met on page. Talk about a Malatov cocktail of explosive chemistry!

Seth, is our sexy, confident bisexual alpha male with a keen mind and killer instincts...in and out the bedroom.

Richard Fine, (boy, is he ever!) is a scrappy sexy nerd who pulled himself up from humble beginnings to emerge as one if the best at what he does (which I won't reveal bc it's a spoiler).

These two together have been dynamite since the word go. I couldn't wait to see who would outwit who and come out on top in the cat and mouse games they play with each other.

This installment of the Tough Love series can be read as a standalone. It's the third book in the series but does nothing to really advance the storyline. Don't let that deter you though. This book is just as intriguing, fast paced and sexy as book two. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I cannot wait to read the next installment!

GUARDING MR. FINE has it all. Hot men, danger, intrigue, a well written story line and even hotter sex. Those are enough for an enjoyable book but this book goes beyond by trying to correct some misconceptions that heterosexual people have about bisexuals such as they are unable to commit to a monogamous relationship or that dating a person of the opposite sex will suddenly cause them to become 'straight'. Kudos to Ms. Dimon for bringing those up.

I really enjoyed the book. Both Seth and Rick are men that I would be happy to call friends and I cheered them on as their relationship developed. I think that my readers who enjoy romances about gay and bisexual men will really enjoy this book. I do want to put out a gentle warning that there are some extremely hot sex scenes between two men so avoid this book if that makes you uncomfortable.

*** I received this book at no charge from NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions expressed within are my own.

charming and funny.

3/parts 3.5*
I enjoyed this one though oddly I did have to force myself to keep reading - at times I was too easily distracted away.
I liked the story premise, the intrigue and the various personalities though this was kind of a backdrop to Seth and Rick's romance - despite Seth being loathe to admit they are in a relationship.
This is third in a series but is fine to read standalone.
For me this just kind of missed on the intrigue side, the relationship I enjoyed.
